My BFF

Day 12 of the October writing prompt challenge.

My BFF

From those days in the playground, I remember how we used to play make believe… acting out every scene that our young minds could think of. How our young and innocent hearts planned out our entire lives. How people used to think we were twins or at least sisters. How we would live together and have a room dedicated for a library and a room for our numerous animals.

From racing each other to finish each Harry Potter book as soon as it was released. To seeing each new Marvel or DC film with each other and either loving or hating them together.

Exploring new cities with a curiosity and eagerness to learn that never left us since those days when our imaginations first blossomed.

How you were there for me through everything and accepted me no matter what; I hope I have been there for you in the same way. I hope I have been at least half a good a friend as you have been for me.

I know our lives didn’t go like we planned when we were young and now we’re living hundreds of miles apart. But I won’t let you off that easy, and no matter how much the plans have changed, you’ll always be my BFF.

Awwh memories. It’s sad and happy at the same time. Sad because good people don’t always stay with us. Happy because we have memories that we can treasure and they make us smile. πŸ™‚ Alhamdulillah for all the friends. ❀
