Is there anything worse than feeling like a disappointment. The only thing worse than feeling like you’re not enough, is the reality of not being enough. Not fulfilling people close to you because you don’t know how to love someone the way they need to be loved because perhaps you were never taught.
Sometimes people have been broken and hurt in too many ways that they forgot what it feels like to be loved.
Sometimes humans are capable of the unthinkable and it damages others in ways that they’re not supposed to damaged.
People forget how easy it is to hurt others and they cause injuries that they are desensitised to.
Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. We set our hopes too high. We hold expectations that will never be met because they are unreachable. We make it impossible for others to be able to achieve what we are expecting of them which only leads to hurt and disappointment. Heartbreak being the one and only outcome for expectations.
We fail the expectations of everyone around us. We fall short of the bench mark every time. It becomes a cycle initiated by retaliation, impatience and misunderstanding.
No matter how high and demanding our expectations are of people, there is One who will never fail our expectations. He is more Merciful, Loving and Understanding than we are deserving of.
“Verily, Allah has one hundred portions of mercy. From one portion the creation has been given mercy between themselves and ninety nine portions are reserved for the Day of Resurrection.”
No matter how much we think we disappoint Him, He has reserved an unimaginable portion of mercy for That Day. All of the compassion and love that exists in this world between ourselves, the animals and all of creation, only surmounts to one part of Allah’s mercy.
No matter how many times you turn away from Allah; no matter how many sins you commit; no matter how many times you forget about Him… He will always love you. He is the Most Forgiving. No matter how many times we fall short of what He asks of us; He will always forgive if we only ask for it sincerely. The door is always open, no matter how many times we think we have shut it, no matter how many times we walk past or forget about that door. The door to Allah, the door to His Mercy and Forgiveness is always open.
Pleasing people is difficult but pleasing Allah is easy.
“It never ceases to amaze me how ungrateful we are to Allah’s blessings, and how much He continues to give us despite our ungratefulness.”
